Who we are
The Cottage is two things in one place: a boutique telehealth therapy practice for Illinois residents, and a therapy-informed educational platform for anyone, anywhere. If you're in Illinois and ready to work with a therapist, I'd love to work with you. If you're here for tools, education, and frameworks you can actually use — you're in the right place too.
Meet the Team
Courtney—Founder & Therapist
I'm a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and Perinatal Mental Health Certified (PMH-C) therapist with a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling from Northwestern University. I specialize and have found my niche in working with OCD, perinatal mental health, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, and those who identify as high achievers and perfectionists. These aren't items on a long list; they're the areas where I've invested deeply in training, clinical hours, and ongoing education.
I'm trained in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Radically Open DBT (RO-DBT). I also draw heavily on neuroscience — because understanding what's actually happening in your nervous system makes the work feel less abstract and more actionable. Treatment here is tailored to you specifically, not applied from a template.
I started The Cottage to build something that felt different. A practice where the clinical expertise is non-negotiable and the connection is deeply human.
Kenny—Chief Wellness Officer
Every great practice needs a great support staff, and The Cottage is no exception.
Meet Kenny, a distinguished miniature dachshund and the self-appointed Chief Wellness Officer of The Cottage. Kenny brings years of experience in emotional support, strategic napping, and non-judgmental presence (with the exception of the occasional side eye.) He is exceptionally gifted at knowing when someone needs a warm body nearby, an enthusiastic welcome with extra tail wags, or a gentle reminder that sometimes the most therapeutic thing you can do is lie in a patch of sunlight and simply exist.
Kenny does not accept insurance, but his rates are extremely reasonable and he works entirely on a treat-based compensation model.
When he is not consulting on cases, Kenny can be found patrolling the perimeter of the home office, sitting on his mom’s lap supervising sessions, and reminding us all that wellness does not have to be complicated; sometimes it just looks like a good nap.
